An AU story of the future Kuryakin family

As Illya wrestled with the folding projection screen, a rhythmic thunking sound broke into his awareness. “Stop kicking the table,” he advised his son.

Léon threw himself back against the couch cushions with a groan. “Why do I have to be here?”

“Because we are spending time together as a family.” Illya gave a triumphant exhalation when the screen case ceased revolving and clicked into place. “Whether you like it or not.”

Challenge: The Short Affair

-Prompt Word #1 - Easy

-Prompt Colour – Brown

Author: mrua7

Title: ‘The best laid plans of mice and Illya Kuryakin’

Word Count: Approx. 1000

Illya Kuryakin was relaxing in his apartment. It was a day off  and his plan was an easy one and that was to catch up on his reading, listen to his favorite record albums, and eati, not necessarily in that order. In his mind this would be a near perfect day, that could only be more perfect if he could do all of this outside in a park as it was Spring.

The weather was lovely, not too hot, not too chilly and the sun was shining down on the daffodils and crocuses that added color to what had been a drab winter landscape.

His day began with food.

We had an overwhelming favorite: The Great Episode Challenge.  Second choice is What's My Line?, which is on hiatus as it makes room for the What If? Challenge.
What this means is that we'll be seeing a return of both of these, a new version of the Great Episode Challenge under the care of [livejournal.com profile] ssclassof56 who takes over from its original hostess, [livejournal.com profile] alynwa
Watch for TGEC to come around for April... hint hint to [livejournal.com profile] ssclassof56 ... time to start reviewing your choices ;)
What's My Line? will be back later; we're still deciding whether to add it in as an additional challenge.
Needless to say our challenge schedule is full, which means there should be something for everyone.  The Ladies First challenge will probably make an appearance as a special feature periodically, so don't fret if it was your first choice.
That's all for now regarding the poll and the new challenge schedule.  You can see the poll results HERE and feel free to chime in on the results.
You are all just an awesome bunch, I'm so pleased we're all able to enjoy ourselves here and dance the light fantastic UNCLE style.

A few days ago [livejournal.com profile] glennagirl posted a picture and suggested an impromptu challenge. I had every intention of posting something over the weekend, but illness got in the way. Luckily, I realised that the idea I'd had for the picture went perfectly with today's prompts, so I've combined the two.

Napoleon frowned as he looked across the table at Illya. The Russian looked tired and distracted. His naturally pale complexion only served to highlight the dark circles beneath his eyes. Napoleon was beginning to feel guilty for insisting on Illya joining him for dinner in one of New York’s most exclusive establishments. His partner had been released from hospital only the day before and Solo was realising that he may not have been quite ready to socialise. It didn’t help that he had chosen the same evening as a young starlet who had a gaggle of photographers, and a brown-nosing entourage, following her.
