Instead of posting just one story for Reading Room, I thought a list of what's been added this week would keep us busy.  If you're like me there hasn't been quite enough time to sit down and read everything here on Section VII.
We had new stories for each of the following challenges:
Short_Affair
PicFic
Song Story
What If?

I've posted these by tags, so just scroll through the entries to find the ones you might have missed.  If you posted a story for any of these and they aren't in this selection then you probably forgot to include the tag for that particular challenge.  You can always go back and add the tag if it's missing.  And, don't forget that the Great Episode Challenge begins posting today.

Reading Room and Beyond...

It's Friday, and normally a Reading Room post is one story.  Today I'm directing traffic, considering how scattered things have been with the LJ/DW travel that's been going on.
Listed below are some of the recent postings that may have gotten a little lost in the shuffle.  They are important to our community, and with some scheduling changes might have been missed with everything else that's been going on.  I know I need to catch up on my reading, so perhaps others are in the same space.
Also remember that carabele is hosting an Impromptu Challenge featuring Shakespeare's Birthday, so if you don't have it ready for today there's still time to write and post for this literary event.

Please don't forget to check out our other regular features:
Short_Affair
What If?
Great Episode Challenge
A Little Drabble Do Ya
And remember, you can always click on the Archives tab at the top of our page to access our entire history, all the way back to day one in 2012.
Happy Reading!

READING ROOM - From the Archives of Section VII

Back in April of 2013, rosywonder submitted this story for PicFic.  There's no way to read her work and not come out of it smiling, so I'm confident you will enjoy this one whether you've read it previously, or here for the first time.

Five years ago we were a fledgling community whose aim was to cultivate new gen fiction for the MFU fandom.  We had our first series of challenges in the HODOWE, Holidays of Dubious Origins Writing Event.  The archives of this challenge have some very fine stories, and one of the early ones by [livejournal.com profile] carabel certainly stands among them.  You should read the story referenced in the introduction first, as suggested.  It is another fine fiction from this writer, one of our original moderators here on Section VII.  You can read more of the stories from the Vernal Equinox HODOWE Challenge by clicking HERE.
Ignus Fatuus by carabele

One of the delights of fanfiction in the MFU-niverse is reading anything by [livejournal.com profile] rosewit  (aka Rose Burkette and Roselight on ff.net).  This little gem is no exception, and it fits in nicely with our love fest that has been going on in honor of Valentine's Day.  I hope you'll take the time to sit down with Rose and let her entertain you with this witty little romp.  You won't be disappointed.

The Weather or Not Affair

Here's another story by [livejournal.com profile] aces and it has the humor only Solo and Kuryakin can deliver.  A mission that Napoleon would rather keep under wraps, an agent only too willing to spill the details... of course you know who that is.  This is a fun and entertaining story for a Friday.
The Invisible Man Affair on AO3

This is an older story, the kind that first invited me into the world of MFU fanfiction.  There is a distinct difference in the style of writing when you start to compare stories now and ... then.  This one is on the Way Back Machine, so let it load.  There is a bit of heartache here, some history and revelation about life before UNCLE.  Leading into our Happy Ever After Challenge, this is a bit of romance for our souls.  Well, romance and angst, I'm warning you.
The Long Lost Memory Affair by satyricon au go go

I do love this story, and it has so many terrific UNCLE elements for us that there seems to be no limit on how many times it should be read. [livejournal.com profile] aces gives us a glimpse into a partnership that has the trust and determination we expect from our favorite spies, and a nice dollop of angsty h/c to go with it.  It's a rainy day here, perfect for another cup of coffee and a good story.
Each Other on AO3

This is a short piece but one that, from the first reading, I found to be so compelling that it probably influenced a lot of how I write Kuryakin.  A story by [livejournal.com profile] eponymous_rose is always a good read, and this is no exception.  There's snow on the ground here, and so I give you a cold weather scenario ...

This story by Vicky Loebel is probably my favorite Christmas MFU story.  I post it here every year like clockwork because it has everything I need in a warmhearted, clever story about my favorite holiday, starring my favorite spies.  This one will make you smile, guaranteed. And take note of her new web address: vickyloebel.com
Small Kindness (A Christmas Story)

[identity profile] glennagirl.livejournal.com
Here is a story set in Scotland, as is our Round Robin this Christmas season. [livejournal.com profile] st_crispins tells a rousing tale of intrigue, seduction and mystery in this story.  I hope you will enjoy it as you snuggle in with a warm cup of something and visions of Solo and Kuryakin in full Scottish regalia.  Well, something like that ;)
The Lizard's Leg and Owelet Affair
[identity profile] glennagirl.livejournal.com
Thanksgiving is over, and that means it's all Christmas from here until the Big Day actually arrives.  We have a treasure trove of stories that revolve around Christmas and holidays, and a great deal of that is thanks to the annual Down the Chimney Affair which partners MFU with the Happiest Season of All... falalalala :D
I believe that this story, one of my all time favorites, was a DtCA entry, written for
[livejournal.com profile] periwinkle27, who was the inspiration for our drabble challenge (A Little Drabble Do Ya), here on Section VII.
I hope you enjoy your post Thanksgiving activities, and give yourself a head start on the goodness that is MFU Christmas Fic.
The Wenceslas Affair by [livejournal.com profile] laughingacademy

[livejournal.com profile] eponymous_rose writes with a deft hand, and her stories were some of my favorites early on.  She  hasn't done anything for MFU recently, but this collection will wrap you up and make you love the fandom anew.  Perhaps if we ask her nicely she will join us again and spin a tale for the Man from UNCLE.
Collection of Stories on AO3 by Eponymous_Rose

This is a perfect story to take you into the weekend.  It has so much of what makes for a good spy story, especially those featuring our guys from UNCLE.  Set in Hong Kong and Mainland China, the adventure is all about retrieving a scientist with whom Illya is acquainted.  The rest of the story, well... read it and find out.  [livejournal.com profile] przed has given us a tale worth telling, and reading.

Road Trip on the WayBack Machine

A road trip is always a good thing when you're travelling with an UNCLE agent.  This tale is perfect for an Autumn day, and as usual when reading something from Miss Rose, [livejournal.com profile] rosewit here on LJ, the charm element is off the charts.  I hope you enjoy this one.
[identity profile] glennagirl.livejournal.com
This is the one, the creepy and disturbing story that made me realize MFU could be more than running and jumping over hoops planted by THRUSH.  Eerie and suggestive of so much terror, perfect for our Halloweenish endeavors here, I give you...
Dreams of Vampires

I'm not sure who RAC is, so someone who does know feel free to enlighten us here, let us send a proper thank you for the story.

[identity profile] glennagirl.livejournal.com
I'm still recuperating from some asthma related issues, but I wanted to get this story on the comm to add to your Boo from UNCLE Round Robin.

The Reality Affair by Sylvan (apparently not the same one that shows up as an LJ member), is a crossover of sorts, with our favorite McCallum characters dwelling in their separate identities.
Take a look, enjoy the read.
