Oh yes, living though an election campaign is definitely something! I was visiting my boyfriend in Virginia during the 1976 election. I was glued to the television the whole night...not that I had much choice as I had no car, and there was nothing to do in a college town like the University of Virginia.
Now I have no television and felt blessed that I missed all the campaign rhetoric. I am jaded in my thinking that all politicians are 'crooked' even if they enter the political arena with good intentions and honesty....eventually they go bad. I think that's just the nature of politics. (Sigh) I wish we had another strong choice besides the Democrats and Republicans...but that's not going to happen. (another sigh)
