A lovely story! It's really interesting to watch you write for a character as obnoxious as Norman. You have him down so well and can really speak in his voice, just as you can for the canon characters.

Illya's werewolf joke was an amusing way to get back at Norman for that comment. LOL.

It's intriguing to see Napoleon get so angry about something. And squeeable. I love that he now doesn't want anything to do with Norman after that encounter. Norman couldn't have known about Illya or how important he is to the security of the United States, but he might not believe it even if he were told. He seems like the type who probably still might not "get it." And while it's likely understandable and hard to fully fault him for being concerned or distrusting given the time period here, it's still sad and unfair considering all that Illya is giving to further world stability. Indeed, he shouldn't have to get used to it.

I love how it ends with Napoleon and Illya still going to do something together. It's nice to end fics with some gratuitous friendship squee.
