There's a retired WWII vet who has spent the last 20 years fighting the various government departments to see to it that the thousands of unidentified soldiers from that day--who are buried in an extinct volcano on the Island--each receive a marker identifying their ship, and their connection to the December 7th tragedy. The government didn't want to be bothered, but he wore them down over time. Now, each sailor has a marker.
