I like the MFU Archive as well, it just doesn't occur to me to use it very often. You don't have to join AO3 to read, but you do need to join in order to post. I haven't written much in the past 6-8 months so I have very little new fiction, especially on ff.net As for links, they'll take the reader wherever you lead them.
