There is a positive end to all this, but it takes time. Melody expresses the kindly meant but patronising attitudes I'm sure we're all guilty of from time to time! I wondered whether Napoleon could be that unfeeling but I think his behaviour works in the context of the stories which precede and succeed it. Thank you so much for your comments!
