I also love the idea of Napoleon liking cheesy horror movies, to relax from his own Thrushed life.

You did Napoleon's nightmare very well, so the reader knew it was a nightmare, but still empathised with his emotions. It's very difficult not to have a touch of bathos when the dreamer wakes, but none here.
