"Trick or Treat" for The Seven Days of Halloween- Day 7

Everyone was looking forward to April Dancer's annual Halloween party; it was the light at the end of a very unsuccessful week for Solo and Kuryakin as well as a number of other Section II agents, including the hostess.

It was as if a dark cloud had been hanging over all their missions, making would should have been easy bits of work go completely sideways.

Dancer wasn't going to let a little injury spoil her party as she looked forward to pulling out all the stops. She cooked as did a few of the other women, and even a couple of the men contributed, though their appetizers and desserts left a lot to be desired.

Illya hated to leave Napoleon again but it was necessary for he and April escort the Old Man back into headquarters. Angelique, much to Illya’s distaste was brought along as well.

There were things to do and damage to survey.

Waverly looked to Angelique, “Mlle. Le Chien is right. Someone will have to go into headquarters wearing those hearing aids and hopefully be able to make their way down to the labs where the device is and put it out of commission.”

“Mister Waverly sir,” George spoke up.” I volunteer. It’s not like I get to do anything out in the field and at least I can help with this.”

“Very well Mister Dennell.”

“But sir, I think I would be better equipped to disassemble the device and render it harmless,” Illya protested.

“Like you did with this one Mister Kuryakin?” He pointed to the broken pieces still on the floor. The Old Man’s retort hit home, and Illya backed off. He was embarrassed at the primitive method he’d chosen to disable it, still it was done as a last resort.

Due to LJ's posting limits I'm forced to post the Round Robin conclusion in 3 parts.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Kuryakin, shielded by the hearing aid, stepped out to a sea of UNCLE agents most of who were laying on the lobby floor snoring rather loudly.

Heading towards the exit was none other than Reuter and he was carrying a small black case tucked under his arm.

Illya though fast on his feet wouldn’t be able to catch up with the man before he escaped out the hotel door, and being out of sleep darts left him with only one choice.

It was to shoot him, and Illya did just that; aiming low, he hit Reuter in the right buttock. That way he was sure to be stopped, but at the same time the wound would not put his life in serious peril.

As soon as he went down, Illya was able to get to him in time, and sitting on top of the moaning man, he pulled the black box from him

Reuter struggled but ceased as Illya put him in place with a warning.

“Move again and this time I will shoot you in the balls.”
