"They would have to do"~ For a Little Drabble do Ya!

This is from my collection of half-drabbles based upon stanzas or lines from a poem.

Prompted by: Woman in Love-Ranier Maria Rilke

and where does the night begin

Illya reached out, touching his finger to the cheek of the beautiful blonde cuddled up next to him.  Their eyes met, and after a split second of hesitation they kissed.

“Mmmm, I have been wanting to do that all day,” he smiled, as he came up for air.

“Me too.” Sigh….

depths, darkened, mute.

They kissed again, both letting their hands roam this time, and one by one articles of clothing were slowly removed and they made love, moving slowly as they explored each other with lips and tongues.

It was a wonderful night.

it let him go again.

Soon the sun was rising, and Illya knew it was at an end. He had to leave and rejoin his partner who’d encouraged him to sneak off into the night with the girl.

It was rare that Illya was attracted this way, and involving himself in a one-night stand.

my fate now gazes at me.

He dressed just as the rays of the sun appeared, and bending to her one last time, he kissed her.

“Will I see you again Illya?”

“Would that I could promise that and the world to you, but alas I cannot.”

Her lips pouted, calling him back.

swayed this way and that,

He was sorely tempted to take off his clothes, and make love to her again, but no...he could not.  Duty called to him like a trumpet sounding the charge.

Illya Kuryakin was not meant for this... he needed the closeness but it seemed he would forever be denied it.

inside some other life.

Perhaps someday he would find love, contentment... maybe even a family of his own, that was if he lived to see forty.  For now, those things were best thought of as not meant to be. UNCLE was his life, as was Napoleon and for now they would have to do.

Lovely, but very melancholy.

There's such a long line of volunteers too :-)

Whatever the form of fiction (film, tv or literature), I'm always more drawn to perceived tragic/damaged character.

But of course. He was my first tv crush :-)
