They were peeping at him, relentlessly. Of course, none of them would dare to rummage through his office but he locked the door.

When he passed them in the hallway, he couldn't help smirking, enjoying himself watching their faces. The man's eyes were searching him, looking for a sign. The girl shook his head.

“Okay. I bought a tie. Mark has a jazz record. What did you get for him?”

He smiled, “The Man Who Was Thursday.”

“Huh?”

“G.K. Chesterton.”

“Huh?”

He was already walking away. One year partnership... The book was a red herring but Illya'd love the quote...

Thanks! I thought about posting it on the 19th, but it would have been really too late for the prompt... So I choose a first year partnership celebration...
