Higher Objectives - Chapter 10

Illya Kuryakin was accustomed to being accused, abused and generally misunderstood by those whose prejudices overruled practical observation.

Why would an agent for the U.N.C.L.E. betray the hand that had so generously removed him from the tyranny of the Soviet intelligence community?  Why?  How was it that these people couldn't understand that he had embraced the vision presented to him by the venerable head of the Command?

As he ruminated on this peculiar conundrum, the blond man with the brilliant blue eyes decided that, in spite of the apparent lack of opportunity being presented, he was going to outsmart the man pretending to be an FBI agent and make his getaway.  Napoleon would be searching for him, but without knowing he had a homing device planted on his person, Illya decided it was entirely up to him to make another daring escape.

Napoleon watched the blip on the screen as it continued to remain idle.  He was dispatching a team to the location as he himself prepared to get to the spot, hoping to find his partner.  He knew Illya would be plotting an escape if he were able.

Illya looked around, spotting something promising.  He just might manage it.

That second paragraph is a very good point.

This was excellent, and I agree with Laurose the second paragraph was outstanding.

Thanks for the opening you left for my next installment.
