Ooh, Napoleon is going to be very annoyed with Angelique. That was a bit over the top, even for her.

I approve of April drinking gimlets because that's what I like.

Thank you! I research the popular drinks of the time...and remembered gimlets as my mom and aunt used to drink them...that and whisky sours. "D

I wish the local bartenders did. Seems like anything that doesn't include mint or Jell-O is foreign to them.

You need to find a bar with an older barman...."D (not too many around anymore) A bar frequented by 'millennials ' who probably watched the show "Mad Men', would be likely to serve gimlets, and drinks from the 60's.

Sadly I can't drink anymore, but the only bar I go two is the Irish one in town where I play at a traditional Irish session. When I could drink, one of the barmen would let me sample or sorts of goodies for free. Ahhh those were the days.

Though the session musicians get drinks on the house, most of us drink water, seltzer or decaf tea. There's a couple of the players who still have a pint or two, but that's it. The house is getting off cheap with us. lol!

My friend prefers restaurants with cute young waiters which tend to have young women bartenders. (Not that I object to cute young waiters.) I've gotten to be such a lightweight that one drink with dinner is all I can handle these days.

I can't go out to eat for all sorts of reasons, so going to the session twice month at the pub is my big treat...whoopee, free tea! lol! All the waiters and waitress are young there. Two of the barmen there are from Ireland and one speaks Irish (and is older) so I'll chat with them.,,,or the owner who is also older and from Ireland.

Except for one musician in his 40's, the rest of us are in our sixties so that commonality is there. We've all known each other and played together for at least 20 years. They're all married too. I'm the only single person there.
