Grim, but these men live in a world we can't even imagine. Your take on Napoleon's state of mind seems very believable.

Thank you! I'm sure they both carry a lot of guilt inside them. I think Napoleon shows it while Illya doesn't, and just goes on about his business...but internalizes it. Still sometimes the regrets escape and show themselves.
