Your muse certainly wasn't resting on her laurels during her absence. This story is wonderful. It must be incredibly difficult for one partner to witness the torment of the other, knowing he could stop that torment, but also knowing others would suffer if he did. You portrayed Napoleon's thoughts perfectly.

Thank you! I'm sure they both carry a lot of guilt inside them. I think Napoleon shows it while Illya doesn't, and just goes on about his business...but internalizes it. Still sometimes the regrets escape and show themselves.

what a glimpse into Napoleon's thoughts. what I love about these partners - and so many others in the TV world - is that when one hurts, so does the other. you portrayed this very well. And I have no problem with your muse being a bit verbose, especially since mine is, too!

Thank you so much! I'm glad my muse is taking me in this direction. I've been writing a lot of light and fluffy lately...just to keep writing.. My muse being verbose? Love it. Wait until you read the story I'm posting tomorrow for the 'Once Upon a Time Affair." Hope you like it when you do get a chance to read it. It's a bit...long. "D
