Here it is, the middle of the work week and... oh wait, most of us aren't working.

What are you doing during this hiatus? I'm trying to stay creative, and I really need to do some writing. We have a Song Story prompt up, the weekly Short Affair and, I think Once Upon A Time is back. Chime in on your challenges please, I'm probably not completely up to date.

If you're not writing, what are you reading? Do we need some additional links for stories that haven't been seen in a while? Let me know, we have archives, the Way Back Machine has stories that go back decades.

In case you missed it...

Summary: Napoleon and Illya are drawn into the Cold War when they must help a Soviet Scientist defect from Russia. Complications arise, as always putting Kuryakin in a tenuous situation as he must travel to East Berlin to complete the next part of the assignment.

The Prompt –

To the casual observer it could easily seem as though Napoleon Solo was quite a lackadaisical man. His relaxed posture, and apparent disinterest in what was being said, belied the sharp senses which were taking in everything.

This is a little late, but it grew into a much longer story than expected.... might be a good weekend read.

The prompt:

Napoleon tried not to worry as he waited for his partner. The satrapy had been evacuated, and Solo had retrieved the file they had been sent for. All that remained was for Illya to work his explosives magic and they could be away.

He waited and waited, checking with his binoculars for any sign of his partner until finally he finally decided something was wrong.

There was no Illya and no big kaboom.

I'm going to get out of my lane a little and put in a plug for the Halloween Challenge over on

There's quite a few prompts over there that are still unclaimed, and I'm thinking some of the writers here on Section VII just haven't noticed. Am I right? Because, let's face it, we do that here... writing.
We'll be having our own Seven Days of Halloween, but let's not forget to support writing for MFU when we see the opportunity.
It's a fact of life that there are fewer people participating now than in years past, but the fires of the fandom are present even if in need of some stoking.
So, if you haven't already, take a look at the prompts and see if anything calls out to you. Several of our members/writers here on Section VII have submitted story prompts (myself included), so it's a little like answering a challenge here in our own playground.
