Reaching - A Little Drabble Do Ya

“Illya?”

Napoleon came upon his partner as he was staring across the street, seemingly at nothing.

“Yes Napoleon… ‘

The Russian recognized an unspoken question in his friend’s expression.

“Oh, I was just observing that little girl.”

Napoleon saw her then, a little girl in coat and cap, standing on her tip toes as she stretched up to the evasive doorknob.
Both men took a moment to watch, each of them smiling at their own silent yearnings for what she represented.

“Do you think she’ll make it?”

Illya nodded, he recognized a certain determination.

“Yes.  Yes, I believe she will.”
