Not So Secret Information Is Available...

Since so many of us are new to this fandom thing as regards conventions and awards, etc..., and a few people have inquired about it, I thought it might be useful to know that anyone can nominate a writer for the FanQ Awards.  They're part and parcel of fandom, it seems, and since no one else posted any info about the process I thought I'd add to the news feed concerning this event.  Some writers here at LJ have received nominations, so kudos to them and their fans.

Your work is always deserving of recognition. I thought it would be nice for people to know how to nominate, since the information wasn't posted elsewhere. I didn't realize it was open to anyone who wants to nominate a favorite writer until I looked it up myself. Perhaps those in the know will share next time around :D Good luck on the voting!

Congrats to the nominees, I'll be at the con so I can vote there.

Note that only work that appears in print can be nominated.

I wish a sizable portion of the fandom came to MWC like the old days. I fear I shall be somewhat lonely next weekend. :)

Since this is the PR department for UNCLE, perhaps you can give us some on site reports from the convention. We'll be counting on you to stir up some MFU action.

If the Hampton Inn has a reliable computer connection, I will file reports with pix.

RE: MFU action. I'm afraid there won't be many folks to stir up. There are no MFU panels scheduled this year but hopefully, I'll have a book jacket to display at Suzi's table. My publisher says she will give me a pdf and order info.

Good luck with your pre-publication PR. Maybe next year we can manufacture a presence of some sort for those who might be able to attend.

I second Glenna's hope that you can bring us some on-site reports from the convention. I had intended to go this year, but with all the medical bills yet to be paid, it just wasn't in the cards. Fingers crossed for next year.
