Napoleon held his candle close to the stone wall in front of him, his frustration mounting as he tried to decipher the words that had been scratched into the brick. Beside the large X was something faintly like…

“Crylic.” Napoleon said it aloud, a whisper that nearly blew out his flame.

It had to be Illya’s doing, and it was meant for Napoleon. This was the code they had agreed upon, and it meant that the Russian was near by.

At least Napoleon knew he was in the right place, that Illya had definitely been here.

“Be here, Illya. Please.”
