Satrap and Satrapy

We all use these words, and the latter has been used in the series I believe.  Here are the definitions associated with these words.
Satrap: A provincial governor
Satrapy: A province governed by a satrap

Words are our tools and sometimes we just need to go back and take a closer look at the ones we see repeatedly.  I hope this is helpful to all of the writers, and lends a better understanding for readers and writers alike.
I'm adding this after the fact, but it was used once or twice in the series, and so it shows up in MFU fiction.  I doubt that it is used elsewhere by any of us, but the clarification between the two is hopefully a help.

This isn't a word used in the UK outside of historical accounts of the Persian empire. Is it in more general use in the US?

Only when writing MFU ;) I believe it is used at least once in one of the … Somewhere in blah blah blah Satrapy… an episode segment introduction. We have all taken that cue and utilized it as a designation for a THRUSH enclave.

Very rarely used here. It does seem to appear in a few magazine articles where a national leader is referred to as behaving like a satrap of the leader of a more powerful country.

IT isn't something you run across in daily conversations, but as I mentioned above, it is used quite a lot in MFU, based on its insertion in one of the episodes as a designation for a THRUSH operation.

I think it's been a source of confusion to many, or they've never realized there was the word satrapy. It took me awhile.
