And one more thing...

So many tags...
I've been editing the TAG column, and removed quite a few.
I took out what seemed extraneous or wrong, and anything that had less than 5 usages recorded. A couple of tags were left that I know are new, some of the name tags as well.
Tags are a great help when trying to locate a challenge story, or the challenge itself.  But variations on the original make it confusing.
For Example:
PicFic Tuesday has been eliminated. That one is old and we no longer refer to the challenge that way. Just use picfic.
Short Affair had 3 variations, and only one is correct: short_affair.
Single use tags that only apply to one story are gone.  If you don't see a specific word to describe your story, just use what is applicable for the challenge, or the tag closest to your content.
Please don't create new tags, we have plenty to chose from and they're easy to locate.
Thanks!

What If? Posting Today, or Tomorrow...

All weekend or whenever you get it finished.
Seriously, we have a lot of writing going on.
You can find the original prompt for this HERE
[livejournal.com profile] mrua7 already posted her story,
a terrific crossover to all things future.
You can find it HERE

A note regarding tags.
Don't hyphenate.
The original tags were made without hyphens, but people have added them when posting and not using the original tags. I'm attempting to make corrections and figure out how to delete the tags that don't belong in the list. I'll take instructions from anyone who knows that trick. Please don't make your own tags, the list is way too long.  All of the challenges have tags and none of them should have a hyphen. The only exception to a descriptive tag is gen-mature.
I know this sounds trite, but when searching for a story, if you hyphenate it won't show up in tag searches.

About Tags...

[livejournal.com profile] carabele used to have time to clean up the Tags for us, but she is buried by her work these days and not around to do the task.  I've been looking at one challenge and noticed we have two tags going for Short Affair.  The appropriate tag for the challenge is short_affair... the underscore _ between short and affair.  Not complicated but missing from a number of entries.  I've gone back and fixed a few stories but I'm hoping (asking) that the writers will go back and add the underscore where it is missing.  I am eventually going to remove the second tag completely so that we don't have that redundancy.
So, assignment today is to fix your short affair tags and make them short_affair.
Okay?
Thank you.

A friendly nudge from the housekeeping-mad maintainer

Hey folks,

Just a friendly nudge here. Please do not use the section vii tag on your stories. They are all posted on this site; so no need for that tag on them. The section vii tag really is something that should be saved for administrative-type posts, like the calendar, challenge prompts, challenge guidelines or some other type of admin announcement.

I admit to being an electronic housekeeping freak (computer programmer, so go figure [chuckle]). Over-utilized tags become just as useless as under-utilized ones. So please realize that a story posted on [livejournal.com profile] section7mfu is that by default and therefore has no need to be tagged thus.

Talk about a common thread...

Maybe it's the snow...  The stories were super entertaining (thanks to all), but we might have to apologize to Illya for all of the bullets, knives and bludgeoning instruments (including that tree ;) we tortured him with.  I'm laughing at us, just a little, because every story submitted today had Illya in need of medical attention, pronto. I think we've just hit the high bar in hurt/comfort.  It must be the snow.
Thanks IK for letting us pick on you.

Just a note on Tags

Tags for this community can now only be added or deleted by maintainers of the site. So if you need a new tag for something here, ask.

(After Glenna created the contributor tags, I went into previous entries and added the author name tag where appropriate.)

For all of the Drabble posters...

In order to make it easy to find the drabbles, your tags should include the word 'drabble'.  It will put them into one collection when the tag is used in a search.
If you haven't already used the drabble tag, you can edit your post and add it to your tags.
Just something to help us find your work.

Tags Almighty!

I've been adding Tags to [livejournal.com profile] section7mfu and began with season 1.  The option is available for any member to still add tags (at least I think so, must check on that) so other subjects and names can be added to the list.
This community is listed as a No Adult Content site, something I decided was a good thing, in the scheme of it all.  We have other options in other places, so it seemed like having one that would be appropriate for any age might be nice.  My vision is for it to reflect the series as much as possible in content and style.  Sort of a Retro Site, if you will.
I suddenly have an urge to put on a pencil skirt and a yellow blouse... hmmm....
