Glenna update

Hi all, I received a message from Glenna. She is out of ICU, running a fever and is very sleepy.  Says it's a grey dreary day by her, but at least she's had family coming in to see her. Good to know she's not alone.    Says not much to tell right now but will keep us updated and thanks everyone for their well wishes.

Oh my god, what happened? I didn't know Glenna wasn't doing well. :(
I sincerely hope she feels better soon. My thoughts are with her.

Spotsy, from what I gather she had a severe asthma attack (or something that looked like one) before she left for Kentucky and then was fine on her trip but had another one just the other day and has been in hospital.

(which is only to repeat what I have read, but may be informative to you if you have heard nothing. Certainly mrua7 and others know more than I, and will hopefully continue to be able to update us.)

It actually may be bronchitis, there's other symptoms that I didn't want to post. Asthma is definitely part of the picture though.

She was having problems with asthma as she was packing to move, even a hospital stint before she left to head to Kentucky. When she arrived in Brownsville, her destination, she ended up in the ICU on a ventilator. They're looking at it being something else besides asthma. That's as much as I know at the moment. She's been in touch with Avery as well.

That's really horrible.. esp since she's away from home. I'm glad she's had family visit her, though.
My thoughts and prayers are with her.

Actually not away from home, she was moving to where her family lives in Kentucky. So there's an upside to this story. She wasn't alone when when all this happened.

What Wretching said is accurate. Glenna did arrive in Kentucky, but landed in ICU last Friday, in critical condition. She was on a ventilator for several days.
As of yesterday, she is off the ventilator, and today was moved to a regular room. She was running a fever, but as of this morning she said that her temp is normal.
The doctors initially treated her for asthma, but aren't sure now, so tests are ongoing. Possibly it's an infection like pneumonia, but that's just a guess on my part.
She is in good spirits, and even has been connecting with the Cousins via laptop.

Out of ICU is good. I've been thinking of her, and continue to send strength and love her way.

I am so sorry to hear this. I have limited computer access and did not realize this was going on. Glenna, I hope you improve rapidly.
