Time for WRITER'S AND READER'S CHOICE!

Wow did this week go by fast or what?

Writer's and Reader's Choice gives you an opportunity to get your stories
out there to be read again or for the first time, as sometimes
they just get lost in the cyber world.

Lots of fanfiction out there
that people haven't read at all, or for a long time.

Writers, post links to your tales or repost them in full

Readers, pick your favorite stories from the world of
the Man from U.N.C.L.E. and post a link to them.

Writer's Choice - Reader's Choice

Here's something different for you, a selection of stories from several different writers.  Five years ago, along with establishing Section VII here on LJ, some of us set up UNCLE Headquarters over on ff.net  Along with having a community center of sorts, the process of posting stories and challenges began there and eventually segued over here to this community site.
One of the postings was to highlight the early or first stories by those who were joining in.  This is an homage to our beginnings here at Section VII, the very first inkling of what we could become.  Even HODOWE was first introduced as part of  UNCLE Headquarters, so this really is the very beginning.

"Yes sir, Mr. Kuryakin" for the #3 What if? Challenge

The prompt: What If... Illya was CEO and Napoleon the new recruit?

He’d heard a lot about this guy. Outstanding performance at Survival School, setting quite a few nearly unbreakable records, but not all; Napoleon Solo smiled to himself.

Solo had broken or matched enough of them to make Alexander Waverly to sit up and take notice, and now here he was finally at U.N.C.L.E. headquarters in New York city. It was where the creme de la creme of field agents were assigned.

"Into the Light" by vysila for WRITER'S AND READER'S CHOICE!

Written for the 2015 Easter Egg Exchange on the Man from UNCLE Writers' Survival School (mfuwss) community on Live Journal. It's a gen story featuring Illya. A flower garden and a curious cat were the prompts.

This story was dedicated to the late Sylvaine Grivel, who loved her little calico cat, her flower garden and Illya!

A/N Assume that all conversations in the story are conducted in French, except for those between Illya and Napoleon. The story takes place now, that is to say, Easter weekend 2015, although some inevitable liberties have been taken.

Castle Ingolstein

A footman dressed in trachten livery placed a tray on the table, bowed, and withdrew.

While the Grand Duchess poured coffee, her consort unstoppered a decanter. “If that doesn’t warm your bones, this sure will,” Artie said, handing Faustina a small glass. He watched her closely, arms crossed, as she considered the clear liquor.

She sniffed the glass and lifted her brows. “Schnaps?”

“Yes, indeed.” He perched his lean frame on the arm of the sofa. “And soon to be our gift to the world.”
