"Once Bitten" for the 'Not Missing the Dance-Valentine" posted in the
[livejournal.com profile] mfu_map_room. It's a bit of a ghoulish Valentine romp that was written four years ago for Jantojones.

This was her prompt:

Letting ourselves drown in the blue of Illya's eyes is an activity a lot of us enjoy.  I must have been dreaming of a swim when I wrote this one, and it's over in the Map Room, a little piece from a while back.  It's a dreamy little escape...

I posted a selection in the Map Room, because it's HET.  Here's the link again...

My Long Story idea is, alas, still only an outline. I've had Het on the brain lately (naughty Muse!) and instead churned out a 3200 word work of mild Illya/Faustina het. It is posted to the Map Room.

Famine or Feast

For what it's worth, My Seven Days of Halloween story from last year did end up at 7200 words and fits the challenge requirements. (My few other long pieces mostly focus on Illya and Faustina.)

It's been snowing here for a couple of hours, just a fine little dusting that won't stick, but it's cold... really cold. I know it's frigid elsewhere, and some folks are already having to deal with wintery storms.
I'm thinking we need to help warm things up, and what better way than a little romance, UNCLE style.
If you're unfamiliar with the Map Room, it's a place for romance, sizzle and even some sexy moves from our favorite spies. [livejournal.com profile] mfu_map_room has some terrific stories, and definitely some heat.  I'm thinking it's a good day to share stories you have written or enjoy reading when the days are cold and gloomy.
I'll start it off with one I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] lindafishes8 a few years ago in response to a fantasy challenge.
Let's go hang out in the Map Room.
An Unexpected Snow

I may have rec'd this one previously, but here it is anyway.  Or rather, there it is over in the [livejournal.com profile] mfu_map_room.  It's a little bit of Het, a little bit of intrigue and hopefully, enjoyable to the reader.

It seems as though we're trying to generate some heat today, so... Here's a story I wrote for last year's Happily Ever After challenge.  I hope it keeps you warm.  Oh, it's in the Map Room.
Dream of Me

Episode: The Summit Five Affair (S4E1)

Prompt 1: When Lisa Rogers tells Illya to report to Harry Beldon, she says, “You'll have to expect him to be somewhat, uh—.” Illya replies, “I've worked with Harry Beldon. I know what to expect.” So the question arises…What are Illya’s previous experiences working with Beldon?

The image takes you to the Map Room. The main link is there, since the story includes Illya's first encounter with Faustina.

Dreamwidth not only has the 'other' Section VII, there is also another Map Room for reading romance into your MFU life.  If you want to join, you can take this link to the DW Map Room
I haven't imported to there lately, but it doesn't get as many entries as Section VII.
You can also find, and join, Reception Desk... this is an information center where you can ask advice on how to get around on DW, find other communities or just have a conversation.  It was established during one of our LJ blackouts a few years ago, but it can still function for us if we need to touch base on a topic that isn't a writing issue.
The other mirrored community on DW is the MFU Gallery.  That's where artwork related to the show or movie can be posted and reviewed.  There has been a pretty impresive amount of art created around those two MFU products, both for studio promotion and individual artistic expression.  If you haven't visited the [livejournal.com profile] mfu_gallery I hope you'll take a tour.

Some mild het for this first Monday in March.

The very late conclusion to my two previous Huddlescombe stories:
Huddlescombe Society for the Prevention of Moral Turpitude
Delight

As the knock sounded, Napoleon’s mouth broke into a grin of anticipation. He smoothed the front of his red silk robe and crossed to the door. His smile faltered at the sight of a stout, gray-haired chambermaid.

“Mr. Solo?” she asked. He nodded, his eyes darting up and down the otherwise empty hotel corridor.

The woman held out a brown paper parcel. “Compliments of Miss Leyla.”

Napoleon accepted the package with reluctance. The paper crackled as the lightweight contents shifted in his grasp. “Thank you.”

This piece is the follow-up to the ShortFic Three's a Crowd and the next installment of Illya and Faustina's rocky road to romance. It's also based on events in my Drabble Anything to Declare?

Other pieces in the series are
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
A Friend in Need
Alone
The Camera Never Lies

Castle Ingolstein

A footman dressed in trachten livery placed a tray on the table, bowed, and withdrew.

While the Grand Duchess poured coffee, her consort unstoppered a decanter. “If that doesn’t warm your bones, this sure will,” Artie said, handing Faustina a small glass. He watched her closely, arms crossed, as she considered the clear liquor.

She sniffed the glass and lifted her brows. “Schnaps?”

“Yes, indeed.” He perched his lean frame on the arm of the sofa. “And soon to be our gift to the world.”

“Neither one of us is leaving until you answer my question.” Napoleon leaned back against the door.

From behind his dark-rimmed glasses, Illya’s eyes glinted icily. “And how is this any of your business?”

“I’m CEA, that’s how. Anyone else and it would be a visit to the psychologist. So either talk to me or to Dr. Tremont.”

Pre-slash, slash recs post in uncle_du_jour

I posted the first entry of this new feature over in the Map Room, because what I see could lead to something very hot.  I see something in the photo I'm using, an attraction on Illya's part that is subtly hinted at during the episode Come With Me To The Casbah Affair.
Do you see things that are mere hints, perhaps your interpretation or secret desire?  What do you see?
Find my entry HERE based on this picture:

I'm leaving this poll open indefinitely so more people can chime in on their choice for a start date.  The topic is the Happy Endings Challenge that will post in [livejournal.com profile] mfu_map_room for Het and [livejournal.com profile] uncle_du_jour for slash.  The concept is to write an AU sort of story based around a romantic happily ever after scenario for our UNCLE agents.
If you think you might be interested please go HERE and post your preference for when you'd be able to have a story ready.

The weekend got past me and I didn't get a chance to be on LJ enough to post or read anything, just checked in to make sure we're still humming along.  And we are, thanks to all of you.
I have an idea for a challenge over in the Map Room, and would like some feedback before I make it official.  Somewhere in my half awake state the other night I thought of this: The Happy Endings Challenge.  It would be an opportunity to write that romantic, happily ever after that you've been thinking about but never put to paper... or computer.
We can post in the [livejournal.com profile] mfu_map_room which is where we put AU/Romance/Het...  All the things not included in the strictly Gen genre.  Of course we're not all that strict, but I do think marriage and children need to be in the Map Room, so...
What say ye?  Even a moderately positive response will get it in the Calendar, but I'm hoping we have some real interest in this challenge idea.
Post your comments, ideas and suggestions for all of us to enjoy and embrace.  And don't get too frustrated if Napoleon starts to back out.  I am confident that someone can get that man to the altar.

I've posted it in the Map Room because it's het... I couldn't resist the temptation and neither, well... You'll see.

The story is posted in the Map Room
as it is Het.
I hope you enjoy it.
