Lots going on here at Section 7. Hope you can post some links to your stories! There's only one more Writer's Choice left for 2013. The good news is that because of the great response, we're going to continue it for 2014.

I know everyone is busy with work and the holiday shopping and preparations, but take just a few minutes to post your links and a little blurb about your story.   Looking forward to reading or re-reading them again!

I have not seen the initial post for this challenge and I don't understand its object very well: is it an invitation to pimp your own stories?

Writer's choice has been open every Friday on Section VII for awhile now. It's not a challenge but an INVITATION for writers to rec their favorite stories or stories by their favorite authors. They're asked to include with their links, a little blurb to tell us about the story they're reccing and what elements they like about it.

The invitation is open to anyone who'd like to join in. As to pimping my 'own' stories,
(I assume that's what you meant?) I find that a harsh way of putting it. I have a right to rec my stories as much as the next person for Writer's Choice. I did not start Writers Choice as it was the idea of the site moderator who ran it for a while, and I took it over to help her out.

I was using "your" in the neutral sense of one's; I didn't understand if the invitation was to proposing a story from another author or one of the poster's stories. I thought it could be a nice variation from the usual reccing thing. I knew nothing about this until I saw the last reminder. I have been more or less absent from LJ for months or, at least, very irregular.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Writer's Choice has had a good reception, though it's a fairly regular core group that uses it. Just like everying on Section VII, it's taken time to grow and garner attention. Our weekly PicFic and Drabble, and Song-Story challenges do well. And we have the last "QuoteMe" Challenge open for posting starting today through the 21st.
