What's my line? Prompt for December 4-5th
Sorry I'm a day late on this. Life is complicated for Glenna right now, so I'm temporarily taking over the reins.
We already had a prompt related to tardiness, so I can't do that. Hmmm, how about:
"I can't believe this is happening again."
Since next Thursday is the holiday, "Thanksgiving, and Friday, known as 'Black Friday.' when the feeding frenzy of Christmas shopping begins; we're postponing the due dates for posting your stories to the 4th and 5th of December. Happy wriitng and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it!

Anyway, as to the prompt, I love it. It has so much scope in the world of UNCLE :-)

Granted, the holidays are the make or break it days for retailers to be in the black and make up for a poor bottom line the rest of the year. It's a vicious cycle really, a double-edged sword. Retail has slowly destroyed the magic of Christmas really...
I worked in retail for over 30 years and it drove all the Christmas spirit out of my. The late hours and terrible customers do that to a lot of retail workers.
I don't decorate for or really celebrate Christmas anymore. I suppose if I'd had children or grandchildren it might have been different. My cousins decided they no longer wanted to exchange gifts (though when I go to their homes, it's obvious they've done so)
I used to feel a bit left out not having Christmas presents to open on the day. So perhaps my feelings about the holiday have become ones of avoidance. It's just become a day like any other now. The message of Christmas however, is still important to me.
On a MFU note, glad you like the PROMPT, so I hope you can have fun with it!
