'Short Affair' PROMPTS for Feb 2nd

2.2

I’m coming to the conclusion that I must be moving through time at a faster rate than normal. I can’t believe these are the last prompts for January, for the first stories due in February. One month gone already!

This week’s word prompts are quite interesting, and you should have no trouble coming up with ideas for a short story.

As always, you’ll find the prompts, and the rules beneath the cut.

Have fun.

LIFECYCLE #1 Challenge (KNOWLEDGE): Guidelines

With our first seasonal challenge in the books (and thanks to those who participated!), it's time to move on to something entirely new: the LIFECYCLE Challenge!

The first foray into this challenge hinges on the prompt of KNOWLEDGE.

I definitely see this as one of the most wide-open challenges we have ever done here on [livejournal.com profile] section7mfu. In life, KNOWLEDGE comes to us through many avenues and in many forms. Besides formal book-learning, there is life experience, and even through something like an emotional trauma that can create or forever alter our store of personal KNOWLEDGE. So let the creative juices flow freely on this one!

Here are the guidelines for the LIFECYLE: Knowledge seasonal challenge.

CHALLENGE: Write an MFU fanfic story regarding the idea of Knowledge. The story doesn't have to necessarily mention or include the actual term; just embody a scenario that fits the concept behind it. Do, however, place the term KNOWLEDGE in a comment at the start of the story for clarity.

STATISTICAL STUFF: Minimum of 500 words with no set maximum. (Drabbles are not incorporated in this particular challenge.) Must fit into the overall concepts of this community, i.e., contain no explicit adult material and reflect the 1960s series in style and content. Please tag your story with the lifecycle tag.

POSTING: To this forum starting on Saturday, February 28th, and ending on Saturday, March 7th.

Round Table Recap

We had an excellent exchange yesterday regarding the Neptune Affair, and the references to  Illya's Soviet origins and continued service to his homeland.  You can still join in or add a story link to this conversation.  Find it HERE

Seasick - 'Short Affair' Challenge - Jan 26th

Prompts – Raft/Pink
Word Count (approx.) - 540

Illya couldn’t deny that the sunset was exceedingly beautiful as nature painted the sky with more hues of pink than he had thought possible. Unfortunately, the stunning vista wasn’t enough to take his mind from his queasy stomach. He’d been floating on the raft, in the open ocean, for almost four hours and if his rescuers didn’t arrive soon it could be too late. Between having no drinking water, and throwing up with seasickness, dehydration was a probability.
