What's My Line? Prompt for December

Ah December.  Christmas lights, warm and generous thoughts of the season... Handsome UNCLE agents and nefarious THRUSH villains.  What's going on when someone says...
I don't believe in Santa Claus

Whether it's whimsy or fantasy, or just someone being a Scrooge, write your story and post it on one of the remaining Thursday/Fridays of December.  As usual, gen and at least 500 words.

Is it supposed to be a good thing to make children believe in Santa Claus? Your prompt seems to imply it.

Personal memory: I was taken to a kindergarten at four. It was Xmas time. I clearly remember the first sentence I said to my "mates" while entering the classroom: "Santa Claus (in French: Pere Noel) doesn't exist; parents use to lie to children". Nobody had suggested this to me, quite the opposite. I had just thought the whole story shockingly absurd. I wish all children would react that way. I still feel the anger.
