I should take a picture of my own pysanky eggs, though they're wood. People blow the eggs of the contents and decorated them with traditional symbols. They're family heirlooms. My student's family has some that are nearly 100 years old. Delicate treasures.
I'm trying my hand at painting my own, practicing on plastic eggs. I have plain wooden ones to use when I'm good enough.
I'm trying to learn how to paint eggs, not the real Pysanky with the wax and dyes...I don't have that kind of patience. Trying my hand practicing on plastic eggs, then will graduate to wooden ones, perhaps eventually real eggs. It's going to take some time, that's for sure.
