The internet is just the next step on from tv which came after radio which was a step on from newspapers. The ancient Greek philosophers though books were a bad thing as they'd ruin peoples memory. Exactly the same argument as was used when pocket calculators became cheap enough for children to own.

As someone who grew up in a house with one cold tap indoors and you went outside for the toilet, I much prefer modern conditions. The good old days might be old, but they weren't that good.
