The Fortune Cookie Affair - Part 16

((My apologies for the late posting - allergies are kicking my booty today.  Without further ado - here goes :))

Successfully restraining herself from rolling her eyes at Angelique's open flirting with Napoleon, April left handling her to the boys as she focused her attention on the unfortunate waiter.  Tremors seemed to be running through his body and she wasn't convinced they were fear related  In fact, April would have been willing to bet he was drugged or poisoned.  With Angelique in the equation, possibly both.

The edge to Napoleon's normally composed voice drew her attention back to the scene at hand.  He wasn't flirting back or even acknowledging Angelique's question, focusing fully on the waiter instead.

"He's not one of yours or one of ours. So who does he work for?"

Angelique pouted for only a second, there being no point in continuing since she knew it would have no effect whatsoever on Napoleon.

"You are no fun tonight, but I'll forgive you since I can understand not being amused at being played. Our side doesn't appreciate it either. Tell you what, darling. I've gotten two locations from him. I'll give you one location, we'll eradicate the other and then we can all get back to our usual adversarial contests without these upstarts throwing sand into our gears. Agreed?"

And the plot thickens further. And oh dear, what did Angelique do to Jie?

I love that Napoleon is not in a flirting mood and Angelique is agreeable to that. LOL.

Excellent chapter and you really wrote Angelique quite well. Hmmm the question in my mind is where's Illya. A couple of chapters back Waverly ordered him to go with Solo, Dancer and Slate to retrieve Jie...

Hopefully otherhawk will answer that question...among other things.

I had to check that chapter, Waverly sent Napoleon, Mark and April to check uot Changs, as Illya was recovering from the ill effects of eating those fortune cookies, Illya was busy interrogating the guard who was on duty when Ecks and Wye escaped,that's what I understood anyway! ;)

Actually in my last chapter on Saturday Waverly said Illya was fine and was to go with Solo, Dance and Slate to Changs.... Apparently IK just ate too many fortune cookies, and the hit on his head wasn't that bad.

It's hard to keep track of so many details...eeek!

Right but I had Waverly order him to accompany Napoleon and the others. The incident with the guard came after that.....so maybe Illya was delayed getting to Changs, but still where is he...now. Mwaaa haaa haaaa!

Well, there's always the possibility that hearing Angelique's voice made Illya decide to guard their rear from the outside while Napoleon dealt with 'that woman' *g*.

Ooo, nice chapter! Angelique is as slinky as ever and Napoleon isn't buying it. (I adore a serious Napoleon). Hmm, and Jie in the very thick of it...not so innocent after all...
