Glazed blue eyes bore into brown as much as was possible considering the amount of pain killers that were subduing both pain and response.

"Okay, I guess it hurts.' Napoleon hated these encounters with mortality, when one or both of their lives hung in the balance, abated only by some lame attempt to convince them they wouldn't die.

"So, what do you want to do for Christmas? I was thinking we could go to my Aunt Amy's big party… you haven't met her yet." Illya was drifting away.

"Illya! Buddy, don't do that.  Stay with me."
