This is such a sweet and melancholy tale. Homesickness is complicated thing. Home is where you're safe and comfortable :-)

I moved back in the area where I pretty much grew up, but it's just not the same. The saying 'you can't go home again' rang very true for me. There's a few place I long to returned to only because I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't call it homesickness.

I imagine living in a place where I never heard my own language would make me feel a bit lonely for the 'familiar.'..
