I used to teach Irish at a local college, for over 27 years, but sadly due to an illness I had to stop teaching.
When running into duplicate names in classes I'd name a student in order of appearance.
So the first Moira, for example, would be Moira Óg- young Moire, followed by- Mean Moira- Middle Moira, then Sean Moire- Old Moira.
If we had more Marys than that, (and it happened a few times, along with the name James) then we'd go into hair color such as Moira Ban- while Moira.
It was a very effective system, especially if the person who ended up with 'sean' was an older person! If not, well they lived with it. The understood the context...lol!
