I'm picturing Venus leaving a nice warm pile of kitty spoor on her nemesis, not a splash of urine. She doesn't want to "claim" him; she wants to show her disdain.
I apologize, but that was one way that the first feline I remember in my family showed his dislike towards a human the others were far more painful.
