I'm only now catching up on this--I hadn't seen the first part when it came out. Excellent story! Very well done. The characterization was spot on. I liked the fact that Peterson (was he named Randolph in the first part?) wasn't a jerk. His hesitation was very understandable, given the time period, but I liked that he wasn't cartoonish. I just love early partnership stories. I wish we knew more about those early days. There would have to have been bumps and awkwardness before they got the wonderful camaraderie and smooth partnership worked out.
