Illya had a massive headache; wiping the sweat from his brow with his handkerchief, he felt jittery and nauseous.

Why? No THRUSH drugs in his system. Why was he ill?

“You okay?” Napoleon asked.

Being off duty on an unusually hot night, they’d gone to one of Kuryakin’s jazz clubs. It wasn’t Napoleon’s thing, but being sans date for the evening...better than sitting home.

Illya described his symptoms.

Looking at the numerous empty glasses on their table, Solo quickly figured it out.

“I think a dozen ice-teas full of caffeine did it, don’t you?”

Illya shrugged.  “I was thirsty.”

Thank you! This was actually based on personal experience from Monday night. Didn't drink as many as IK but after a couple (which I'm not supposed to have) I didn't feel well. It was that, the weather and allergies that combined to make me feel unwell.

LOL! Tried and true for sure. I figured there were clubs that didn't have liquor licenses, so ice tea seemed logical.

This was based on personal experience, though I didn't drink as many as Illya. Ice tea/caffein, bad weather and allergies do not a good combination make.

Ah a story you can relate to!

Oh it sort of happened to me at the Dublin House in Red Bank. I was playing at the Irish session and the waitress just kept the ice tea coming. I'm not supposed to have caffeine but it was hot, I was thirsty and sometimes I'm just sick of drinking plain water. Can't drink the seltzer there as they don't know if it's sodium free.

Such is a restricted diet. Sigh.

Sorry for your experience, my friend. We will just have to remind our Illya of this experience the next time he goes for too much iced tea or espresso, true? (Remember when I basically drowned him in espresso in "The Espresso and Duct Tape Affair"?) Hope you are feeling much better, luv!
