Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas Project

   Yes, we're all busy
as the holidays will be here
in the blink of an eye.

It would be wonderful
if you could take a moment and please
leave the gift of a comment beneath the tree?

The garden just had a Christmas present of a lot of rain!

It was, of course, immediately after I'd done a thorough hosing.

My old computer...

This might be old hat to you, but I just saw a shop assistant wearing a lei of lit red Christmas lights. The store shop assistants are one thing, most of them look as if they're a dress rehearsal as daleks, but this was an elderly and otherwise sober looking gentleman

When there's a kitty involved, there's always a way. Old Jakie was the same, except it always involved Hannukah, and he was a black DLH, not a calico.

A lovely story. She sounds a darling cat, and a real addition to Christmas.

Here's a Christmas memory that always makes me smile. I have an assortment of Christmas ornaments that my son made over the years. I think by the time he was about 8 or so he was tired of the traditional things like Santas and candy canes, so he made a Christmas Lizard instead. It's painted in Mardi Gras colors and it's been in a place of honor on the tree every year since then, at least 20 years of people doing a double-take when they find the Lizard in the tree! But you know what - if I could keep only one ornament, this battered, falling apart, inappropriately colored lizard is the one I'd keep. It's been glued and taped and the poor Lizard still hasn't grown back the one paw that went missing at some point.

I can still see Nicky's face when he came home from school with it, and every year he looks to see if the lizard is on the tree and then he rolls his eyes at me. But we both know it would not be Christmas without our Lizard!

Thanks for the invite! :)

I can so remember him showing me his treasure, delighted and pleased and yet a bit anxious and even a bit defiant as well. As I look back on it, that was one of those moments that illuminated the man he would become.

My tree is full of memories just like that one.

Everybody should have a Christmas Lizard. They're priceless!
