 I watched the movie version (The Spy In The Green Hat) the other night, and came away with this shot of the poor Russian.  I still contend that Illya had a crush on Pia, and in this wistful look back at the girl the effect became very painterly.  That's what happens sometimes when capturing from the television screen.  
I've decided that "Into every life, a little blond must fall".  Heh heh.
