Leaning towards the mirror, she puckered up as she put on a fresh layer of Yardley slicker lip gloss...her current favorite, frosted pink.

“You’re gorgeous enough luv,” a voice whispered to her through a small white earpiece nestled out of view beneath her auburn hair.

Alway dressed in the current fashions, April Dancer caught the attention of every man who entered the room; her sleeveless hot pink mini-dress of horizontal sequined stripes in varying shades of pink was dazzling.

She wore a pair of matching pink pumps and on her head was a pink pill-box style hat, one that would have suited the stylings of the new first lady, Jackie Kennedy.

“Thank you Mark, but am I getting their attention?”

“If you lean any farther forward you’ll cause a few heart attacks,” he chuckled.

“Oh no, that won’t do. One can allow a little taste but mustn’t give it away for free.”

In other words, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?"

"Illya, don't you get a little tired of always being the one in a costume?  I know I've certainly seen my fill of strange outfits."  April Dancer lamented her role at times, the only female in a world of men.  She wondered if they took her seriously, because when she was dressed up like a Middle Eastern belly dancer she felt more like an actress than a spy.

Illya Kuryakin was a master of disguise, and he figured his life had been prolonged considerably because of it.  "April, the art of becoming someone else is at the very root of what we do.  Some of us are just better at assuming identities that can only be achieved through a total transformation, such as the roles we have each played."  He sounded reassuring, but the auburn haired beauty still had some misgivings about always showing up in a costume more suited for Arabian Nights than a battle with THRUSH.  Still, the Russian was an expert and she respected... More than respected him.  Her crush was very transparent.

"I suppose... I just want to be taken seriously, Illya.  Sometimes it seems like that isn't the case, especially when the costumes are so... so..." She blushed slightly as she remembered just how much of her body had been exposed recently while dressed as a Tahitian castaway.

"I do understand, but you are an excellent operative and the disguise is one of the skills you will learn to appreciate for its great value.  Do not let the costume determine your worth as an agent, April.  Make it reflect you, even as you become the character it represents."  She had to smile at that.  Only Kuryakin could make a statement like that, almost obtuse in its logic, and still sound like the authority he was.

"You're right, Illya.  I shall dress for success, no matter what that dress looks like."  That brought a smile to the Russian's face.  He really did like this young woman with her bright eyes and intelligent demeanor.
April could be dangerous for a man such as he, regardless of what she was wearing.

“Napoleon! I am fed up!”

The CEA looked up from his desk to observe a furious April Dancer standing in his open doorway holding a sheaf of papers in her hand. The look on her face killed the joke he was about to utter in its tracks. His first thought was, Please don’t let this be about Illya! “What’s up, April?”
