The glowing fire was a welcoming sight as Napoleon removed his winter coat and galoshes. It was a chill evening, not cold enough for snow, though there was still plenty of it left on the ground.

"Glad you got that going," he rubbed his hands together to warm them and smiled at Marjorie, his companion for the long weekend. He'd let her into the family cabin in the Catskills, while he parked the car and gathered the groceries to bring inside.

Section VII feels empty without a PicFic

This is the only week we won't have a story from PicFic, so don't get used to it. lindafishes8 has volunteered to be our Calendar Girl, so thanks to her for taking on that task.  I hope it will be helpful to see the month's activities at a glance.
Tomorrow April's day, while next Wednesday is the return of drabbles with A Little Drabble Do Ya.  In case you aren't familiar, a drabble is 100 words, and really good practice in telling a story or scene in a few words.
