Here we are in November already, a relatively quiet month for the Brits (Bonfire Night aside), and quiet few weeks for all the Stateside cousins (which is most of you) before Thanksgiving. (I haven’t forgotten those of you not in Britain or America, it would just take me too long to list all the national holidays.)

Until then, there is plenty of fun to be had on Section VII with the various challenges, and here’s one of them.

As always, all the necessary details are beneath the cut. Have fun.

Prompts – Picnic/Crimson
Word Count (approx.) – 655

On the grass, a blue and white checked picnic blanket had been laid, and upon that sat a wicker basket; its contents spread out on the blanket. Lying side by side, next to the untouched food, was a young couple. They appeared to be asleep, until you got closer. As they approached, Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin could clearly see that the couple would never be waking up again.

Title: Napoleon Solo’s Luck

Author: mrua7

Word count: approx. 600

It was not his way, though sometimes Napoleon Solo thought he was perceived as being a glory hound.

He was the best of the best in the world of UNCLE, there was no disputing that, and with his Russian partner at his side; he was nearly indestructible.  He knew he wasn’t, but there were times he felt as though both he and Illya were.

Call it what you may, Napoleon Solo was a lucky son of a gun...but today was one of the days.

Friendly Fire is always a possibility in the career of a Section 2 field agent, when it happens; how they deal with it can either make or break them.

Chapter 1

Mr.Waverly’s assistant couldn’t help but scan the police report in her hands before delivering it along with the rest of the daily mail to her boss. After all, it wasn’t marked ‘Eyes Only’ and Lisa Rogers felt it her responsibility to be kept abreast of all the goings on in the chief’s office.

The smile she wore that morning quickly dissolved as she returned to her desk to summon U.N.C.L.E.’s Section 2, Number 2 agent. She nodded to Illya Kuryakin as he stepped through the doors into the heart of headquarters.

How she hated days like this. No one ever wanted to hear bad news. And it was only the beginning of the week...
