Well, here we are in December. The holiday season is beginning (although technically it has already begun in the states, as you've had Thanksgiving). Christmas and other festivals are fast approaching, so how about giving us a holiday story from these prompts. Of course, you can write anything you wish if nothing festive comes to mind.

As always. look beneath the cut for the prompts and the rules.

It was dark, nearing midnight he guessed as Napoleon Solo searched for his missing partner.

Illya had called for help, saying he was being shadowed and had a bad feeling about it.

The American was not one for disbelieving the Russian when it came to his instincts and locking in on the homing device in Kuryakin’s communicator; Napoleon knew he was getting close.

The constant blip from the tracker increased in speed as he got closer until there in the shadows he saw a black figure coming towards him.

“Lookout!” Illya called as he collapsed to the ground, warning his partner just as a gunshot rang out; a bullet ricocheting against the wall beside Solo’s head.

Okay, December has arrived and so has the holiday PicFic Challenge. Last year we did a countdown for the Twelve Days of Christmas and it was a lot of fun! Two years ago we ran a 3 prompt challenge with the themes Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Cristmas Future. It was a big success, so I’m going to run it again but with different themes of course.

You can write a single stand alone fic with each theme/prompt or you can do a WIP with each part relating to the other and the 3 prompts/themes of course. It’s your choice.

Two men sat on a park bench, their lunches now a thing of the past as they appeared to anyone looking as though simply enjoying the day, in spite of the weather.  Across from them a man had been walking up and down in front of a solitary building.

"How do you like that swagger?  Poor fellow seems a bit out of his element if you ask me."  Mark Slate was busy doing nothing much as he and Illya Kuryakin continued to observe some activity across from their position on a park bench.  It was cold, and neither man had seen anything that looked remotely dangerous or THRUSH-like.

"I think it's more of a stagger than a swagger.  Look at him, he can barely stand upright."  Illya thought he could probably just touch the fellow and he would topple over.  Mark shook his head.

"Illya, he is not staggering.  That is a definite swagger, look at his shoulders."  Mark was less convinced than he sounded, but sometimes it was worth a few words to get the better of the Russian.

“Bozhe Moy!” Illya Kuryakin exclaimed. “I swear you’re getting heavier.”

“Hey!” Napoleon retorted weakly, as he hung over his partner’s shoulder. “It isn’t my fault you haven’t spent enough time in the gym.”

“Maybe I’d have more time if I left you to do your own paperwork.”
