The last Writer's Choice of 2014 ... wow.  Sometimes it's really hard to realize the time that has elapsed between the year I first saw the Man from UNCLE and now... I don't feel all that grown up.  And to prove it, here's a story that indulges much of my early fascination with Illya ... hurt/comfort, vulnerability and charm, the possibility that he might be shirtless at some point (you know that's what you hoped for as well ;).
So, here is a story that started out life as 'Is There A Russian Word for Uh-Oh', but soon transitioned to the pages of Kuryakin Files #31 as Illya's Folly.
I hope you enjoy it, for the first time or maybe once again...

With 2014 quickly coming to a close, I wanted to rec two stories. I was looking for the first one last week and just couldn't find it in my archives...I've hit the 300 mark plus 'SNAPSHOTS' have 100 chapters and  'The Randomness of life'-120 chapters, so there's a lot of stories to look through.  Whew.

The good news is I have plenty more stories in the works.  I am most thankful that my muse has decided to stay with me for the holidays.

So the first fic is a Christmas story called "The Light of a Star"-Napoleon, Illya and a Soviet defector are stuck in a safehouse for Christmas. Solo is determined to celebrate the holiday and during that time eyes and hearts opened...

brownstones                 The second story, "Auld Lang Syne"- Illya has
volunteered for desk duty on New Year's Eve.

Snow Rescue

This is the 5th entry in my Ludwig Bowler series.  Illya and Wolf, the former Ludwig Bowler, have reported Napoleon and Eunice missing at a ski resort.  The link takes you to AO3.  Ludwig Bowler is an original character of mine.  Former THRUSH agent and enemy of UNCLE, he is now Illya's brother - in - law.

Over the years, I've written only two stories set at New Year's Eve.

One, The Devil's Attic Affair http://file40.net/file40g/crispins/attic1.html is pretty well known. It is a longish action-adventure in which Napoleon and Illya meet and work together for the first time within the St. Crispin's universe.

The second, "Unfaithful" http://st-crispins.livejournal.com/953835.html is story for mature audiences so I will just post a link here. I've just archived it on my own LJ, so you're welcome to read it there. In it, Napoleon tells April the reason he broke up with Clara. Be forewarned though: it's sexy as well as philosophical.
