Lisa Rogers was one of the few people who kept to themselves, perhaps even more than Illya Kuryakin. Her position with the Command was not that of a secretary; she was the personal assistant to one of the most powerful men of U.N.C.L.E. Alexander Waverly.

She was not only that, but she was his bodyguard and confidant well; often sitting with him in his conference room over a good cup of darjeeling tea while he thought aloud through a particular dilemma. He valued her insightful opinions as well as her discretion.

There were times Lisa thought about moving up to Section I someday, as there were plenty of positions she could easily handle, given her experience with Waverly. She’d gone to Survival School, trained and qualified to become a field agent before the likes of April Dancer, but opted to fill her current position instead.  She saw a need and filed it, and quite well at that.

It was a decision that slipped quietly by everyone at headquarters, as Lisa was new and hadn’t established herself.  To everyone she simply became the new private secretary, whose name was added to a long list of her predecessors.

Alexander Waverly went through them like grains of sand through the fingers so no one really paid attention to them, as they were here one day and gone another... that was until Rogers arrived.

This project, started as part of the 50th Anniversary of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. original series, is finally complete. The idea originating with Linda Cornett, the Bible was the work of many authors and is, of course, in no way comprehensive. But it does provide all in one place a lot of helpful reference material for MFU fanfic writers.

It's in PDF format, so accessible no matter your machine type. However, it is of course large in filesize (about 5 MB), so getting it archived anywhere is a bit tricky. The original intent was to post it to MFU Archive, but as it turns out it's too large to use the standard user upload engine for that. So I have a request in to Lisa regarding providing her the file directly to input on that site.

In the meanwhile I have made the Bible accessible from my own website, though you will need to follow these instructions to get it.

1) Right-click (not double-click) on the following link: MFU Writers Bible
2) Select "save target as..."
3) Choose the local directory on your computer where you want the file saved
4) Click the SAVE button

Once the file is downloaded, you will be able to access it from the saved copy on your machine.

They were so close, but so far, the safety of the UNCLE outpost was only another 3 miles away - they had travelled 150 already, the last third by helicopter, which was now lying crumpled and useless on the snowy hillside.

Out of the two occupants, the blond was in a slightly better state than the aircraft, suffering a broken leg, fractured rib and concussion, the other had escaped with only a few minor cuts and bruises.

The MFU Writers' Bible is now available on MFU Archive.

Direct Link is: http://www.mfuarchive.net/archive/6/MFU_Bible.pdf

Or you can find it in the Index under the title MFU Writers' Bible.

Many thanks to Lisa for getting this loaded to her site through direct FTP.

Remember this is a large PDF file, so it can take some time to load. (Didn't take long for me, but really depends on the processor speed of your computer.)

If you prefer not waiting, the link from my website is still valid to do the right-click, save target as, download save.

Part 1

“What kind of person has cells in their basement?”

“You’d be surprised,” Illya mumbled.

Cat was sitting, cross-legged, in one corner, while the injured Russian lay on the small cot. Ignoring his grumpy protestations, she had seen to Illya’s gunshot wound, and found it was merely a graze. It would be sore, but it wasn’t life-threatening. She was still worried about him, though. The kick which had been aimed at his head had been particularly brutal. The man was still dazed, and seemed to be having a little difficulty focusing on things. Despite this, he kept telling her he was fine.
