A Double Drabble and a little play on words, feinting and fainting... haha
:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:

Some of the girls at UNCLE's New York office thought they knew the Russian well enough to play a little April Fool trickery.

'Okay Dot, you deliver the news and then we'll all shout 'April Fool!'.  He'll be so surprised."

Dot nodded to the other two secretaries and quickly set the scene by pretending to sob out loud.  Illya stopped, real concern in his inquiry.

"Is anything wrong?"

'"Oh Mr. Kuryakin… ' Dot was giving a stellar performance. "Mr. Solo got married last night."

Illya started to open his mouth. his eyes rolled and he dropped to the floor in a dead faint.

"Oh no, what have we done?" The women were frantic.

"You and your stupid April Fool jokes.   So help me Dot, if I lose my job over this…"

At that moment Napoleon walked onto the scene.

"What's going on here?"  He kneeled down to check on his partner as Dot spoke up.

"We… we played an April Fool  prank on him, but it… well …"

"What was the joke?"

"That you got married last night."

Napoleon smiled.

"We were on a plane together last night, right Illya."

Illya sat up and scanned the women's faces before speaking..

"April Fool."

It was April Fool’s and at UNCLE headquarters that meant a day of shenanigans for the employees.

Alexander Waverly had finally given up trying to stop it all; as long as the pranks were innocent and not harmful, he realized it was good for his people to let off some steam.

“Brrrr.  I heard today in Communications that it was warmer in Antarctica than it is here.”

“Moving our maximum security prison to a new location might be necessitated,” Kuryakin commented.

“Last time I heard Antarctica was still the coldest place in the world.”

“Not to a cold location, but perhaps a hot one instead, one of the hottest.”

“Where?”

“Rub’ al Khali, in the Arabian Peninsula. Temperatures average 133 degrees, and it is the largest continuous sand desert in the world. So inhospitable for humans that it has never been crossed unsupported.”

“Makes me feel more toasty already,”Napoleon winked.

Alexander Waverly sat alone in the park; well, apart from his three man bodyguard. There were days when he wondered why he continued to fight against the forces of evil. Each time an enemy was defeated, it simply left a space for a stronger one to emerge; and the old man was getting tired.

The sound of several screeching children cut through the maudlin fog in his mind. Mr Waverly watched the children squeal and giggle, as they chased each other around. They were happy and free, and they were the only reason he really needed to keep on fighting
