I’ve been hosting this challenge for almost a year now and the response just keeps on getting better. Thank you to all of you who take part in it, and also to those of you who read the stories generated. However, I’m greedy, and would like to see even more people join in. Go on, you know you want to :D

You can also, if so inclined, join in with today’s posts. The prompts for those are just here. I believe today is Labour Day in the States, so if you want to build that into your story, then please feel free.

Title: The really unexpected affair~ chapter 6 - ‘No riding off into the sunset for you.’

Word Count: Approximately 1,000

Illya was up early, and after eating a light breakfast of porridge with fruit and a nice cup of tea; much to the dismay Mrs. Dunphy the cook, who wanted to make a proper breakfast for the gentleman.

“Ah sure there’s not an ounce of fat on you a stór.You need some good food to fatten up a shkinny lad such as yourself. Just put your bum down in a chair and I’ll make up some nice bangers and mash. That’ll schitck to your bones.

“So I have been told, but thank you no, Mrs. Dunphy, the porridge will suffice.”

Patience - Short Affair - Sept 7th

Patience was the key.

Many people had asked Illya, over the years, how he managed to survive the tortures and beatings he received on a regular basis. He always told them it was all part of the job, and therefore something to be endured. The truth was simply that he was patient. Illya knew that all situations would end, either in rescue or in death. Either way, the pain would be over, so there was little point in worrying about it.
