Illya remained on the sofa until he finally woke. Napoleon, as usual, was sitting nearby in a high back Georgian leather wing chair, reading a copy of the local newspaper. He peeked over the top of it, like a good spy would as soon as he heard the Russian stir.

“How you feeling tovarisch?”

“Like I fell off a horse,” he grunted as he sat up.”What time is it?”

Napoleon glanced at his watch after folding up the paper and putting it aside. “Nearly time for dinner.”

“Good, I’m famished.”

“Hold on a second, I think you need to apologize to Mrs. Dunphy if you expect to get anything more than stale bread and water.”

“Perhaps Mr Waverly will be content with silver?” Illya suggested gloomily as the CIA team vanished beyond the tree line, captured flags in hand.

Napoleon sighed and lowered his gun. These paint guns were barely accurate over thirty feet. He'd missed two shots he knew he would have made with his special and, as it was concealed in an ankle holster, it had been a real temptation. “I doubt it,” he said in response. “I suspect his attitude is more 'Come home with gold or don't come home at all.'”

I've said this many times, but where is the time flying? With the next PicFic posting, the month of September will be almost over. Holy Cow!

Before you know it, it'll be October and  what happens at the end of that month? With a quite unnecessary flourish, Napoleon Solo signed off on the last of the agents’ reports which had been demanding his attention for a week. He would have been happy to let them slide a little longer if it hadn’t been for the week long mission to Europe he and Illya were scheduled for. Their flight was due to leave in three hours, which would give Napoleon plenty of time to have a quick lunch with Monica, from Archives.
