Did I scare you? Next week we’re having the ‘Seven Days of Hallowe’en’ here on Section VII. All the stories from all the prompts should have a Hallowe’en theme. To that end, I’ve cheated slightly with the prompts for ‘The Short Affair’. I’m sure no-one will mind.

Usually, I randomly pick two words from the dictionary. This week though, I’m giving you the first two words which came into my head, along with a suitable colour. As always, you’ll find the prompts and rules below the cut. Join us for a week of spooktacular fun.

Title: All’s well that ends well, right?
Word Count: Approx. 1,000

Solo and Kuryakin were accustomed to finding their lives in jeopardy; it was the status quo really, though neither man let it become so routine that they let down their guard. Becoming lax and complacent increased your risk of most likely losing your life, something neither man wished to have happen.

So far they’d come close to dying too many times, but this time it looked like one or both of them were going to buy the farm.

Word Count (approx.) – 385

The assignment had been concluded with the maximum amount of success and the minimum amount of fuss. There had been very little jeopardy, no-one had been endangered, and there had been no fatalities. Even Illya had come out of it unscathed. Yet, as Napoleon toyed with the object in his hand, the fruit of their endeavours, he couldn’t help but feel used.
