Short Affair PROMPTS for December 7th

Wow! Is it really the last day of November? As the days get darker and colder, what better than to curl up in a cosy chair and write a short story? You can write a stand-alone or make it part of a multi-parter. As long as it’s between 300 and 1000 words, then all is good.

You’ll find the prompts and rules for stories due on December 7th beneath the cut.

If you feel the urge to write something for postings due today you’ll find the necessary prompts just here.

Should your story be AU, Long term romance, or Het, then please post it in the Map Room (remembering to leave a link to it on Section VII).

Challenge: The Short Affair

Title: “Plucked from the hands of evil incarnate”

Word Count: Approximately 1,000

(This story is a prequel of sorts to an older fic: “Solo”. Bringing things full circle)

A trio of U.N.C.L.E. agents dressed in khaki clothing crept through the bushes as they neared their target; a well fortified hacienda nestled amongst Sabal mexicana palms that towered above its red tiled roof.

In the distance echoed the calls of howler monkeys. Mosquitoes buzzed annoyingly and were swatted away by the agent's hands as they came upon a set of locked gates.

A faded wooden sign read in Spanish: ‘Doce Robles’... Twelve Oaks, presumably so named after the Wilkinson plantation in ‘Gone with the Wind.’ This place was far from hospitable as the fictitious southern one had been. Strangely enough, there wasn’t an oak tree in sight.

Regarding Office Gossip...

As I mentioned in an earlier post, December has so much to offer once the drinks have flowed freely and the inhabitants of UNCLE HQ have all told their stories, some tall and not a few beyond belief.  Which will bring us to the aftermath.
What, you may ask, is the aftermath?  Why, it's the office gossip machine.  It's what happens after everyone starts to try and put two and two together and keep coming up with five.... or more.  It's what fuels a community, the energy that fires up imaginations and threatens to ruin relationships.  It's life in the fast lane.
Office Gossip UNCLE Style.
The date for our fictional party is December 10th, next Thursday evening.  Leading up to the party we have all sorts of questions, innuendo and speculation.
Will Dancer be bringing a date?
You know what I heard about her and Kuryakin... Really?  Well, let me fill you in.
I hear Mr. Solo is bringing...

What rumors have you heard, or willing to start?  Feel free to post up until the party, and then let's really let her rip!  Some things will be proven wrong, others will have new light shed on them.  You can post your gossip as drabbles, short stories or photo manips... any way you like  Just a question will do when you're looking to get some gossip going.  We're still gen, so keep that in mind when you start spinning your rumor thread around our characters.  Post daily, hourly or whenever the gossip gnome comes to visit you.  If you read someone else's gossip and want to challenge or add to it, feel free.  Again, you can do drabbles, short stories or any other type of posting format. Use tags for these entries: christmas, office gossip.

All I want for Christmas is a big fat piece of juicy gossip.

There is enough C4 to bring a grim smile of satisfaction to his face. Let this affair end in flames. It's the best he can ask for.

Death Reaps - Short Affair - Nov 30th

Three agents had died, in three separate assignments, over three consecutive days. It happened sometimes. Everything could go relatively smoothly for several months, with nothing more than the usual injuries to contend with. Then, all of a sudden, the fates seemed to realise they had neglected U.N.C.L.E. and endeavoured to make up for the oversight.
